Prof. Claire GACHON

Prof. Claire GACHON is based in the Natural History Museum of Paris, France. She is a plant and algal pathologist whose research encompasses the physiology and ecology of many pathogens of freshwater and marine algae in polar, temperate and tropical environments. Her research span the physiology and ecology of host-pathogen interactions, as well as the socio-economical, conservation and biosecurity challenges that arise from the rapid development of algal cultivation worldwide. Aside from research, she is very proactive in networking and capacity-building worldwide to support the development and resilience of the seaweed aquaculture sector. Back to home
